Today's alert is a call to ABC News to investigate Bush's Vietnam-era military record rather than attacking Michael Moore's remark that a debate between Clark and Bush would be "the general vs. the deserter" (ABC's Peter Jennings called this "a reckless charge not supported by the facts", though the Boston Globe, the Times, and the Post reported that Bush failed to appear for duty for months -- possibly a year -- while a member of the Air National Guard during the Vietnam War).
